What is Sulha Edge?
Sulha is an ancient Arabic word for reconciliation — the art of restoring what was broken, not through weakness, but through wisdom and mutual understanding. It is also the name of the traditional Libyan peacebuilding process that formed the foundation of my doctoral research.
Edge is the sharpness that genuine experience gives you when you have been truly tested.

Why I Created It
Throughout my career — in the criminal courts of Benghazi, in the peace-building centres of Virginia, in the foreign ministry of Libya — I have been asked the same question by business leaders in different forms: how do you navigate this? How do you make the right decision when the environment is this complex, this unpredictable, this human?
I created Sulha Edge to answer that question — not once, but in every episode, with a different guest, from a different angle, carrying the same underlying wisdom: that in conflict environments, the leaders who thrive are not the most aggressive. They are the most informed. The most wise. The most human.

Sulha Edge is hosted by Najla Elmangoush — lawyer, conflict resolution scholar, and former Foreign Minister of Libya. A recipient of the 2022 US International Women of Courage Award and named in the BBC 100 Women 2021 list, Najla brings a perspective on risk, leadership, and resilience that is genuinely unique in the world of business podcasting.
She does not just interview guests about conflict resolution, diplomacy and navigating business in risk environments. She has lived inside them at the highest possible level.
